The popularity of Korean sweets is increasing overseas.

Of Orion's consolidated sales of 2.22 trillion won last year, the overseas share amounted to 65.5% (1.46.2 trillion won). The proportion of domestic sales is 34.5%.

Overseas sales are increasing every year to 1.68 trillion won in 2017, 1.215 trillion won in 2018, and 1.2905 trillion won in 2019.

In terms of sales by country last year, China was the highest with 1.91 trillion won. It crashed from 1.3 trillion won in 2016 to 7948 billion won in the aftermath of the high-altitude missile defense system (THAAD) in 2017, and then surpassed 1 trillion won again in three years.

The most popular product in the overseas market is by far the'Choco Pie'.

Overseas sales of Orion Choco Pie have drawn an upward curve to 35 billion won in 2017, 332 billion won in 2018, 341.4 billion won in 2019, and 3814 billion won last year.

Lotte Confectionery's overseas filial piety product is also Chocopa. Lotte Confectionery has established four factories in India (2), Russia (1), and Pakistan (1) to produce chocolate pies.

Overseas sales of Choco Pie jumped from 66 billion won in 2017 to 93 billion won in 2019 and 11 billion won in 2020. Last year, it posted sales of 40 billion won in India and 50 billion won in Russia.

Lotte Confectionery exports 100 billion won worth of sweets to over 70 countries around the world, but only Pepero sold 35 billion won.

Crown Confectionery's exports last year were 22 billion won, up 10% from the previous year, and Haitai Confectionery's 40 billion won, a 20% increase.

Crown Confectionery's candy product'Sweet and Sour' alone increased about 30% in sales of 3 billion won in Australia.
